Suzuki Philippines reaffirmed its commitment to environmental conservation through a meaningful Pawikan (sea turtle) release activity held at the Pawikan Conservation Center in Morong, Bataan. The activity brought together Suzuki Philippines leaders and team members in support of marine wildlife protection and sustainability.
Leading the activity were Mr. Norihide Takei, Director and General Manager of Suzuki Philippines’ Automobile Division, Mr. Ira Valte, National Sales Manager, and Mr. Jeff Lopez, Brand Communications Group Head of the Automobile Division, together with members of Suzuki Philippines’ Marketing and Brand Communications teams. The group participated in releasing rescued Pawikan hatchlings into the sea — a symbolic and heartfelt moment highlighting the importance of collective action in protecting the environment.
The hatchlings released during the activity came from Pawikan nests adopted by Suzuki Philippines during its first visit to the conservation center as part of the Suzuki Fronx media and bank partners drive. During that earlier visit, Suzuki Philippines also donated a Suzuki Jimny to support the center’s conservation and coastal monitoring efforts. The vehicle was formally turned over to Mr. Aurelio Llenarez, President of the Pawikan Conservation Center, together with Ms. Angeline Vigo, Manager of the Pawikan Conservation Center. According to the Pawikan Conservation Center, their conservation efforts have yielded encouraging results. Out of 100 nests, a total of 9,468 Pawikan eggs were safely secured. From these, 8,713 baby turtles successfully hatched, demonstrating the impact of sustained conservation work and community partnerships.

During the visit, Suzuki Philippines team members experienced firsthand the conservation process by carefully digging through protected nests to collect newly emerged hatchlings before releasing them into the sea. As the sun set over the West Philippine Sea, the group released the baby turtles along the shoreline — a powerful and emotional reminder of the shared responsibility to protect nature for future generations. The activity reflects Suzuki Philippines’ brand philosophy, “By Your Side,” which extends beyond mobility solutions to supporting communities, protecting the environment, and contributing to meaningful causes. Through its partnership with the Pawikan Conservation Center, Suzuki Philippines continues to play an active role in marine conservation and environmental awareness.

Suzuki Philippines looks forward to strengthening this partnership through more collaborative initiatives that will help protect Pawikan populations and preserve the country’s coastal ecosystems. By working together with organizations like the Pawikan Conservation Center, Suzuki Philippines remains committed to being by the side of communities, nature, and future generations.
